Andrea began dancing at the age of four and quickly fell in love with ballet. She continued with ballet and tap training in southern California and northern Utah. Andrea danced with Mountain West Ballet (a semi-professional ballet company) starting at the age of nine and became a principle dancer with this company performing roles including the Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen, Dew Drop Fairy (The Nutcracker), Swanhilda (Coppelia), and the Princess (The Frog Prince). She danced for and studied with Bene Arnold, Conrad Ludlow, and Barbara Hamblin at the University of Utah where she was the recipient of the William F. Christiansen Scholarship and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree with a teaching emphasis.
Andrea apprenticed her ballet teachers while in High School and so began learning to instruct from a young age. She has taught ballet for ages 4 to 75 at various studios in Utah and Nevada. She greatly enjoyed the role of Ballet Mistress for Mountain West Ballet (Paul Murphy-artistic director, emeritus) where she choreographed pieces for many ballets, rehearsed corps de ballet, coached principle dancers, and supported the logistics of the ballet productions. Andrea is married to the man of her dreams and enjoys being a mother to three beautiful children.
