Ivy Neal

My name is Ivy Neal and I am 17 years old. Black and white are my favorite colors. Also my choice of food is sushi. I have been dancing for about 13 years now and my favorite style is contemporary. I love contemporary because it helps me feel free when I’m dancing. I am a senior at Coronado high school. My favorite subject is being a student tutor in the Special Ed classes. When I grow up I’d like to continue my work with people with intellectual disabilities as an occupational therapist.

I have had the pleasure of teaching Ivy the past seven years. She is such a hard worker and is always the biggest cheerleader for all her teammates. She has improved so much and is very talented. Ivy has been a teacher assistant for a few years and now subs when possible. Her love for dance and children are going to make her a great dance teacher! She has juggled school, work, dance for the past two years. She is a big advocate for Best Buddies – An organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ivy is a sweet, kind hearted young lady I will miss watching dance on the competition teams, since she is a graduating senior. Ivy, I wish you the best of luck in you next chapter of life. Mallory Christensen

My name is Mallory Christensen and I am 7 years old. I am in second grade at Nate Mack Elementary where I participate in the Spirit Squad, Spanish Club, Tech Brainiac Club, and Piano. My favorite subject in school is writing. I enjoy creating fun characters and stories. I have been dancing for four years and I really enjoy my jazz class! This is my second year on the competition team! My hobbies include art, writing, and baking. My favorite food is carrots. When I grow up I would like to be a dancer, cook, or school teacher. Who knows, maybe I will be all three!

I am so proud to have Mallory on my “Sweet & Sassy” team. Mallory always comes to class ready to dance full out! She is a great example as she never complains about the hard work it takes to be a strong dancer and team member. Also, it is quite exciting to see how much she has improved since last year, showing that her determination really is paying off. Her enthusiasm for dance really shines through her fantastic performing ability! I am so happy for Mallory because she has completely earned “Dancer of the Month.”

Abbey Broadhead

Abbey Broadhead is 17 years old. She is a senior at Silverado High School and her favorite subject is chemistry. She has been apart of Silverado’s Varsity Dance Team for four years and is currently captain. She has been dancing since she was three years old, and her favorite dance style is character. When she graduates, she plans on attending UNLV to peruse a career as an optometrist. She would like to thank Ms. Kathy for teaching her how to dance and for the numerous life lessons from the past 14 years.

Abbey Broadhead is one of my graduating seniors this year. Abbey has been with me since she was an infant. I remember her sitting/playing in the studio lobby while waiting for her big sister(teacher-Miss Jacey) to finish her dance class. When Abbey finally was old enough to dance she became a star on stage!  She has been on the competition teams since age 5. Abbey is such a hard worker and very dedicated to her craft. She has had to overcome several injuries and surgeries in the past four years. While she was recovering from her many surgeries, she always came to class and competitions to support her fellow teammates. Abbey is a perfect example of drive, determination and heart of a dancer! As she is getting ready to begin her last year of competition team, I’m so excited she is well enough to go out with a bang!

Faith Zena

Faith is 5 years old. She’s a Pre-k student at Lapetite Academy. Her favorite color is purple. Reading is her favorite subject in school. She loves noodles, pasta, and watermelon.

In fall of 2014, when she was only 3 years old, she joined a combo class with Ms. Kayla and enjoyed dancing ever since. She particularly enjoys ballet and tap dance.

Other than dancing, she enjoys playing with her kitchen and Barbie doll house.

When she grows up, she wants to be a princess, a doctor and a baker.

I am so proud of Faith. She has worked so hard and continues to try her hardest in class. She comes in always smiling and ready to work hard. Every Saturday she comes in showing me new moves she’s been working on at home and tells me that she has worked on her group dances all week! She is a complete joy to have and I can’t wait to continue to watch her grow as a dancer and continue to help her through her dance journey.

Alyssia Mancha

Alyssia Mancha is 17 years old and her favorite colors are Black, Gold and Red. She is a Senior at Silverado College Preparatory & Career/Technical High School and will be graduating this June. (WHOO-HOO) She enjoys Lunch and English class. Her favorite food is Chinese but is always willing to try something new. Alyssia has been dancing for 13 years and truly enjoys all styles of dancing, each style leads to a new emotion/expression. Dancing is Alyssia’s world and she enjoys the beach, hiking and spending time with family, especially around the dinner table. 🙂 🙂 🙂

She will be attending OCC (Orange Coast College, California) in the Fall of 2016 where she will study KINESIOLOGY. She also, has plans to dance on a cruise ship and travel.

Alyssia has been a student of mine since she was 5 years olds. At an early age she showed such showmanship and love for dance. I remember telling her mom she needs to be on competition teams. Mama Mancha believed and trusted in me and what I had to offer Alyssia because she went from one class a week to five at age 7. Alyssia is a very hard working member of my senior company. She inspires and encourages her teammates and the other Innovation Dance Company Teams. I hope she continues to pursue a dance career and travels. She is a bright star and the world needs to see her! I will truly miss seeing her around the studio. I hope she knows myself and her dance family are so proud of her and she will always have a place in my heart and at the studio.

Gabbie Acosta

Hi, my name is Gabriella “Gabbie” Acosta. I am 8 years old and in second grade at J. Marlan Walker Elementary School. My favorite subject in school is math and my favorite colors are teal, pink, purple and red. My favorite food is my mom’s meatloaf, apples and strawberries. I have been dancing for four years and I love jazz and hip hop. When I’m not dancing I enjoy drawing, riding my bike, playing soccer and spending time with my family. When I grow up I would like to be a dance teacher!

I’m so lucky that I have Gabbie on my team this year! Every single week, from the moment she walks in the studio she is working as hard as can be and is having fun doing it. She is always listening and takes note of every correction, always trying to improve. I have never once seen her not give 100% and have a great attitude. And what a performer she is! She performs every single time I turn on the music- it’s absolutely exceptional. This dancer is going places and I’m very excited that I get to be there to watch her journey!

January 2016  | Erinn Veach

Hello, my name is Erinn Veach. I’m 14 and I’m a freshman at Green Valley High School. Coincidentally, my favorite color is green. My favorite subject in school is Theatre and my favorite food is salmon. I’ve been dancing for 11 years, and I love contemporary and musical theatre. When not dancing, I enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, and taking pictures. When I’m older I want to either be an astrophysicist, an author, or an actress.

Erinn has been a student of mine for over 10 years. She is such a hard worker in every class and has always been since she was young. With Erinn’s dedication and determination she has blossomed into a wonderful dancer. She has such a positive spirit and outlook on life. When she struggles with a step, she puts in the extra time to master that step. Many of her fellow teammates are jealous of her beautiful feet and flexible back. Erinn is such a pleasure to teach and I can’t wait to see both her solos this year. The sky’s the limit for Ms Erinn Veach! ~ Miss Kathy

November 2015  | Roderick Tukis

I’m Roderick Tukis but everyone calls me Roddy. I am 13 years old and I will be 14 next month. I am one of six kids in my family and my mom homeschools my older sister Randi and I. I am currently in the 7th grade. My favorite subject is reading and my favorite color is red. I’ve been dancing off and on since I was 4 but have taken a much bigger interest in dance the last 3 years. My favorite style of dance is hip hop. On my spare time I like to watch TV, play video games, play baseball, and eat pizza! When I finish growing up I hope to become a police officer.

I have only been teaching Roddy since August and I am so impressed with his ambition to learn how to dance! He is a excellent student and a complete team player. Roddy comes to every event the team has to attend and with lots of spirit. He always encourages dancers after they go across the floor during my classes. He cheers on our other teams as well! He takes corrections perfectly and ALWAYS thanks me for class after I dismiss the class. He has a bright future in dance and whatever else he sets his mind too! ~ Miss Erika

My name is Lauryn Weber and I am 12 years old.  I am in 7th grade and I go to St. Viator Catholic School.  My favorite subjects in school are English and Reading.  My favorite color is turquoise and I love spaghetti and meatballs.  I have been dancing for 9 years now with Miss Kathy and my favorite styles are Contemporary, Jazz, and Tap.  My favorite hobbies are singing, dancing, and acting.  When I grow up I want to be a famous singer/dancer or an actress. I hope to perform on Broadway one day or be cast with the Rockettes.

Lauryn Weber has been on my competition team for the past two years. I have watched her since she was in combo class. She is such a hard worker and always comes to class prepared. Lauryn is the captain of the Hot Shots this year. To be chosen captain, means you scored the highest at auditions. Lauryn continues to improve ever year and will be doing a solo this season. Joy RohloffCongratulations to Joy Rohloff for being chosen for our Innovation Dancer of the month for June. Her favorite style of dance is contemporary and has been dancing for ten years. She is 13 years old and Science is her favorite subject in school. Her favorite color is blue and her hobbies include dancing and hanging out with her friends.

Joy is so pleasant in class! She is a hard worker, she is quiet and respectful of other students and teachers. Joy has improved so much in the 2 years I have had her and I’m looking forward to many more years! She always comes to class and competitions with a smile on her face. Lexi’s hobbies are: Acting, jumping on the trampoline, and hiking with her family and dogs.

Lexi is such a pleasure to have my Hot Shots Team. She is one of the hardest working students I have. Lexi dances 4 hours on Mondays and never complains! Her positive attitude and fun spirit are felt by all her teammates and teachers. I look forward to working with Lexi for a long time. She is becoming an awesome dancer and I can’t wait to see where her dancing takes her.

Myah is 13 years old and attends Greenspun Middle School. She is in the 8th grade and her favorite subject is Geography. Myah’s favorite food is Sushi and favorite color is blue. Her favorite style of dance is lyrical. When not dancing she likes to eat and watch Netflix.

Myah is new to the Elite Company Team this year. She is a very hard worker and a great asset to the team. Myah is very supportive of all her classmates and is always working on the side when it’s not her turn. Her passion for dance shows through her steps and her positive attitude is contagious. I look forward to many years of watching Myah grow into the Super Star I know she will be!

Julia is a member of the Innovation Senior Company Team. She is such a hard worker with a great sense of humor. She is a very positive student always willing to go the extra mile. Julia is dedicated to becoming the best dance she can be and hardly ever misses her classes. She is a well rounded dancer, she dances jazz, ballet, pointe, hip hop, contemporary, acro and tap. She currently takes over 12 classes and is a teachers assist. Her hobbies are dancing, eating cereal, spending time with family and friends and shopping!

Jaklyn KittredgeCongratulations Jaklyn Kittredge for being selected as the Innovation Dance Star for February. Jaklyn is 11 years old and has been dancing since the age of 2 1/2. She has been on the competition teams at Dance Fusion and Studio One’s Henderson Dance for 6 years.

She studies Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Hip Hop, and Contemporary. Her favorite is style of dance is Contemporary! Jaklyn’s favorite subject in school is English. Her favorite food is fish, and her favorite color is Violet. When not dancing, she loves playing with her dog Buddy and being with her family. Her biggest supporters are her mom, dad, grandma and grandpa. Jaklyn comes from a dancing family, her mom, Miss Erika was a professional dancer for many years. Dancing is her first passion and she loves her dance friends and families. Jaklyn is such a pleasure to have in class. She is a very hard worker with so much talent!

His favorite type of dance is Jazz & Hip Hop. His favorite color is Blue and his favorite subject in school is Physical Education & Science. John loves to eat Pizza and some of his favorite hobbies are Soccer, playing Video Games, Swimming & Dancing.

John is such a pleasure to have in class. He works hard and is always prepared. His excitement for dance really shines through him. He is always eager to learn. The sky’s the limit for John in a dance career.

She likes the color Hot Pink and her favorite subject is school is Writing. Her hobbies are Dancing & Reading. This is her 3rd year dancing on the Competition Team. She has 3 brothers and 1 sister and her favorite food is Chicken Enchiladas.

Mackenzie LudlowCongratulations Mackenzie Ludlow for being October’s “Innovation Dance Star.”

Mackenzie Grace Ludlow is 11 years old and in the 5th grade. She started dancing when she was 3 with ballet and tap. She then went to competitive cheerleading when she was five. After learning that she loved the dance side of cheer the most, she asked to be put back in dance. This is her third year dancing at this studio and 2nd year on competition team. Last February she dislocated her knee in dance class & missed out on competing the rest of the season, but she still went to support her team & dance buddy as much as she could. She worked super hard at physical therapy and came back early this summer to dance classes and yoga to get ready for the new year. With lots of hard work and a great love for dance she’s back and ready to go! We are so very proud of her!

Dance is a way to express herself and warms her heart. Dance cheers her up when sad and she says “I never want to stop dancing it’s what I do… and is a part of my heart forever… I love to dance!” Mackenzie Ludlow.

Sadie NewberryCongratulations Sadie Newberry for being September’s “Innovation Dance Star.”

I have danced for 13 years, 9 years with Dance Fusion and I can’t believe I’m a Senior. I love jazz and musical theater. My favorite part of my dance years was dancing in Disneyland, danicng the halftime show for a UNLV Basketball game and getting the chance to dance in “Star Showcase” at finals.

Dance means the world to me, it’s the only thing where I can lose myself and find myself at the same time. Dance is what makes me the most happy. After graduation, I plan to stay in Las Vegas and get in the medical field. My favorite color is pink – LOL. When I’m not dancing I am working at a nearby dance shop.
